R32 look on rear of GTI.

It's been very well done and looks good in itself imo, but the problem I have with it is that it communicates "I'm pretending I'm a Mk5 R32".

Having said that, someone might say that my GTI's rear says "I'm pretending to be a Ferrari" grin.gif.

I quite understand your point, but then there's the argument the R32's bum looks better and you want it, yet you prefer the feel of the Gti. In that case, why not take the parts available and not get a load of custom stuff made. Ive seen 3 series diesels with CSL bumpers, RS badges on Smart cars, Mk4 R32 bumpers on Mk4's. It never bothered me, yet understand people may think it 'dilutes the image'.

Apart from that I think those pipes look spot on. I prefer the thinness of the metal, it looks nice and lightweight. The size looks spot on too. If it was me, id have those pipes on the R32. 169144-ok.gif

Bloody Hell! If anyone here thinks that my modding is OTT, they should just check out Geoff's golfmkv link across the pond!

I don't go for imitation, so why make a GTI look like a R32 or vica versa? confused.gif

There's some MAD modifications mainly imo due to the target market of the GTI in the states on that site, but the photo section of the forum i quite enjoy looking through as there's a large amount of people from many different countries round the world post on there so a big variety of cars to many tastes.

Over the past few years a few people have commented on how they really like the mk5 R32 rear but not the GTI one and due to the floor etc it was thought not possible to fit it well to the GTI.

Im still not sure of centre exit exhausts myself i have seen what a bare leg and hot exhaust pipe can do to you if you catch your leg on it when loading the boot, all right if you like scares but at least these ones don't stick out much so its far less likely to happen if at all. Im just still not sure, I think the R36 passat and R32 mk4 was a better idea for them that want there cars pipes to stand out.
