Fazzzman
Had 2nd service last week and dealer told me that the 40k DSG gearbox oil change should be done at least every 2 years. I can't find any reference to this in the Audi service schedule - do the VW schedules mention it? Its still only 21 months old with 23k on the clock. This question has drawn a blank on the A3 forum ...
petsy
I don't know for sure but I suspect he's after more business...

TwoSheds
The VW Service schedule only lists DSG oil & filter change every 40,000 miles ( no ' or at two years' mentioned.)
womble68
Would it be worth giving Audi's Customer Care (guessing they have the equivalent of the VW one) a call, or ringing a different dealership for clarification??
Fazzzman
I did call another Audi dealer who said it was just due at 40k, so I then had enough reason not to go ahead at the time. I now have 2 conflicting views so just looking for a definative answer. Good idea to contact Audi Customer Services - I've just sent an enquiry - I'll let you know what they come back with .. Simonl
This has raised another question for me. What happens when you come to change the clutch in a DSG. Do you have to replace the whole unit, or can the clutches be changed individualy?
petsy
you must be able to change the clutches as one tuner (iirc HPA) has uprated ones available.
robs1977
Oil and filter at 40k on VW's last time i looked, only exception is for MK4 R32 as some on the continent had DSG and that is 2OK.
Fazzzman
Good news - had a reply from Audi Customer Services today to say that it needs doing at 40k and not before. Not sure where the local Audi dealer got the 2 year thing from.
robs1977
Maybe getting confused with haldex 4 wheel drive oil which needs to be changed every 2 years.
