ChrisGoulding
Can anyone tell me how to reset the airbag warning light or is it a trip to the dealers? I have a Golf Mk4 GTTDI on a 02 plate and I accidentally took out the airbag fuse (I was looking for one that was possibly blown). As soon as I took it out, the warning light came on and wont go off, even though I have replaced the fuse. I have tried turning the ignition on and off a few times, but to no avail. ChrisGoulding
I dont know anyone with a vag-com, but will try taking the battery off. If it doesnt work, I will take it to a local garage. Thanks for your suggestion.
ChrisGoulding
I have had a look at the interfaces for VAG-COM and they seem to be really cheap. The software can be downloaded to my laptop or PC for free and then I should be able to clear the fault code myself and hopefully deal with many other problems that may arise. Is it really that easy or am I missing something? The adverts on E-bay seem to suggest that it is very easy!!!!!
Rustynuts
Scanning the airbag controller is dodgy for some reason I can't remember. You can destroy the controller if you use the wrong software, I think. Check it out very carefully before you do this. Maybe try asking in the VAg Com section here on TSN first, the guys there will know more about it.

ChrisGoulding
Took the car to a local garage earlier today. 1 minute later the fault had been cleared and he didnt even charge me for it. What a result!!! Thanks once again.
