Hudson
I am after a little advice on how you guys all go about cleaning your pride and joy after a winter trip out or at the end of a working week ?? Do you use some kind of WD40 type product after washing it down ?? How do you get all the water out of those hard to reach places ?? etc.
SneakyMcC
Wash the bike? Avus_Bub and myself haven't put a bucket of soapy water near our bikes twice in the last 4yrs between us! Have you seen the state of AV's SP?
Hudson
Shocking !!!! I clean my car currently every week and have a garage full of detailing products (don't get out much), so i can see myself following the same cleaning regime on the bike. I thought all the ACF50 etc and other such wonder products were used to keep rust and other such nasties at bay after washing (with soft lambswool mitts and PH neutral shampoo !)...... by the sounds of it my bike could be the the only clean example in my local area ? Lee_
I usually just take the fairings off and wash them seperately then use paraffin to degrease the bike. Then once done blow all the water away with an air line and regrease the chain, shock linkages etc... Once thats done an its all dry its time to break out the autolym and auto sol. Nooooooooooooooo!!!! With regards to cleaning it's all down to each bike really. You'll soon get a feel for what works best for you and your bike. WD40 is an evil product and only worthy of stopping squeaky door hinges. If you've a lot of bare metal to protect then Waxoyl or a copper grease spray would be good untill the salts washed away in the spring. Then a day or two taking the bodywork off and getting into all those nasty nooks and crannies will have it looking sweet again. BUB
