DHA
Are there any Q cars anymore that have good performance? If you think when the Sapphire cosworths were first out, same goes for the Impreza turbos nobody really knew about them and they had pretty good performance. Is there anything like that today? SamD
I am not sure that a 4x4 can count as a Q car....
garcon magnifique
The GS isn't a 4x4 - it's the medium size saloon. It's a great try by Lexus but seriously flawed IMO.
Torino101
A3 3.2 If you have it in normal Sport trim, not S-line, and de-badge it, it could be any other 1.6 version......

garcon magnifique
In fact, if you set out to design the ultimate Q car these days it'd almost certainly be a diesel.

garcon magnifique
That's one thing about the Legacy. Few people know what it is in the first place. And there's no badging at all. Except 'Legacy'. OK, that's two things.
rhyds
How about some of the higher power volvos? Unmarked police cars need this "Q-car" look to work well, and a lot as volvos.
garcon magnifique
Volvo S60 / V70 R is definitely a contender. 4wd and 300bhp is not to be sniffed at.

[/ QUOTE ] As we were a subaru dealer back then before they got the image. The impreza more or less had an image from day one it did go nuts later as we all know but the Qcar was really the legacy turbo predecessor that was a proper Q car as it was not showy. The cosworth was never a Q car. The carlton 3.0 GSI 24V was though as was the lancia thema turbo, Alfa 164 cloverleaf and many more of that time. Today theres not really many that go undetected as the companys make them look the part. I guess the VW Jetta 2.0T sport is a good example of a Q car today not that fast compared to some but it goes undetected like Q cars from yesteryear. [/ QUOTE ] The original Legacy Turbo was a great car. As you say, not at all showy, and no-one knew what it was. Good in the dry, but it got better the worse the conditions were. On pot-holed, muddy roads, it was just epic. Best car I've ever had.
