Oatz
I have about 15 days of tax left on my current car and wondered whether I could get any money back on it? or is it only on a full calender months worth? On the same note I am about to trade my .:R this weekend and wondered whether I had to pay for the whole of Feb on the new car even though I am only purchasing it this weekend (ie half way through the month)? Many thanks in advance
SamD
Only full months are worth refunding I think, but it is worth a go, and yes you do need to pay for the whole of Feb unfortunately.
Chrisg
whole months only and it must be with DVLA before the start of the month ( i.e. they would have had to have received you disc back before 1st Feb) and if on the road 28th Feb you still pay the full wack...... remember this is a tax! Ian_C
Cheers Oatz, for you just reminded me to get my car taxed online. For some reason you cannot apply for it online before the 15th of the month before it is due. I tried last week and it wouldn't let me. What happens if you are going to be on holiday? Anyway, an absolute cinch in this modern computerised world. Don't even need your V5, MOT or insurance details. Glad I've never had to queue at the post office like people previously had to do. http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ Ian

I've just renewed mine over the Internet, this morning. I'd be happy to never go near the pikey main post office in Bedford again.
