.....and the sport design wheels

I have never had a brand new car, my current Boxster was a demo and had 400 miles on it, so I fancy a brand new one.

Only issue I have is mileage I am currently doing 20k ,miles a year so need to sort that out first.

The aero kit tends to be the kiss of death for residuals of the 997..it just doesn't add anything really. But if you like it...go for it

I dont worry about residuals on cars, lets be honest £70k on a car is a total waste of money, they cost a lot to run and the depreciation must be like throwing a fist full of fivers out the window every 100 miles. They are purely for enjoyment, you gotta spend it on something, pretty bank statements arent no fun.

Seriously if I could find one for 50k, what kind of 3 year ballon figure would I get, any ideas?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well you won't get a 2006/06 for £50k. To get a decent C2S you need to be thinking £54-£55k and a likely residual of 40%-45%.

That help at all?

Thanks Gareth, I saw one this week at Dove House in Rushden, it was MY04 C2S at £52k, some remaining extended warranty and 35k Miles, but even with 45% balloon I don't think I can make it work, I need to be putting more in I think.

Thanks again

[/ QUOTE ]

That's pretty pricey considering the mileage. Values don't seem to have moved much in the last 6-8 months if you look at what people are asking for their cars, but there also seems to be plenty on the market.

I can only guess that prices could start to fall soon and we'll see more sub £50k C2S's about. Gareth?

Maybe Ben, but a £55k C2S is very, very good news right now. There are a number of people in the market for £50-£60k cars and the two most popular now are the Audi RS4 and the 997C2S.

A great many of these people asking us to source and finance such cars are coming up from the E46 M3/CSL and/or passing on the new E92 M3.

You might find a £50k (or sub) C2S on the market but there will be very good (or bad!) reasons for that. The 997 is car that needs to be bought on condition/spec/colour/history and provenance.

Happy to have a look at some numbers if it helps you make a decision?

Cheers,

I'm sure that a £55k C2S is good news Gareth grin.gif, it was more that I haven't seen prices drop since I was thinking about a 911 of some type 6-8 months back. You're right, the sub £50k cars are usually with miles, or in some dodgy/boring colour combo with minimal spec.

But, they can't hold their value for ever! I was wondering when there may be a bit of movement in the market. Winter?

RS4's are dropping still, which is not suprising as supply is huge!

How you enjoying yours?

Cheers

Ben

You sure about that Ben? That's not what all our contacts in trade say and looking at the real world prices backs that up.

"How you enjoying yours? "

Very nice thanks-just need to use it more!! Only done 1.2k since end of June blush.gif
