Nice one Lottie!! Is that Montego blue that 3.0?

When do you get to drive the M version?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, thats Montego Blue, their demo. Extended champagne nappa leather (nice and squishy) inside. 169144-ok.gif

They've just got an M coupe (had only got a roadster) in in Interlagos Blue so I'm driving that on either Sat or Monday, but I don't think I can borrow that for the day. frown.gif

Will put a bit of a review up in due course, but I actually liked it far more than I expected to. grin.gif But, I've still loved the drive home in the TT as well! cool.gif

Reckon the M version may be "Class A addictive" to coin someone else's phrase... wink.gif

....Gosh!! EEK2.GIF - The Beemers kidnap The Foxy One from Audi Island! grin.gif (I've been watching too much "Shipwrecked" TV with my daughter).

I imagine that the BMW and the TT are totally different to drive - It can only be down to a personal preference. The Beemer looks very sexy and much more of a classic sports car though. But will all your Audi friends still speak to you, Lottie? wink.gif.

Well it is certainly great fun, if you get the chance (subject to the roads you are on) try and give it some beans in 3rd and fourth, really comes alive in the higher rev range.... Enjoy! 169144-ok.gif

What do you think of the rear wheel drive comapred with the Quattro?? You have to really take control don't you? smile.gif

How do you like the brutality of the Motorsport divisions 3.2 litre compared with the laid back Audi 3.2 litre? I know it isn't for eveyone.

I drove both Zs in relatively dry conditions - the M felt far more planted and stuck to the road than the 3.0 (does the M not have run flat tyres - appeared to "feel" far better than the 3.0 which at times just felt sloppy on sweeping bends) and the suspension was far more interactive and balanced IMO. I've not had a car with that much performance driven through the rear wheels, the MX-5 was slightly slower wink.gif and it is a very different sensation. In the dry it was great fun and even after the hour out in the M yesterday I had learned about its handling. I'd certainly need to get to know it a lot better if I bought one and drove it in all conditions. I've got used to the handling of a car with Quattro (albeit Haldex on the TT) and it would no doubt be a different experience! 169144-ok.gif

Its a totally different 3.2 experience as well compared to the 3.2 in the new TT. far more raw, in gear is different and when you push the Sport button (which stayed on! grin.gif) the in gear acceleration is insane and it just keeps building. You only need to get it into the higher rev range and it just takes off and keeps going. The 3.2 in the TT is a quick animal but in a different way. The M is most definitely more raw and engaging, but I do still love the interior of the new TT and probably still prefer the external styling if I'm honest. The thing that grabs you about the M is that you sit in it, start the engine and it is just built to "drive", everything perfectly placed and set up. 169144-ok.gif

I'm going to pen a proper review later on as it certainly showed me if I did go for a Z4 I'd always regret not having the M. Not sure my bank balance would agree! yelrotflmao.gif

Sounds like you had fun Lottie! It certainly does take some getting used to and is raw but I find that so rewarding when I am driving the car, still two months on and I am still loving it as much as when I got the car, looking forward to the summer to really get to grips with it as in this weather it will bite you particularly in second gear if your not paying attention. Look forward to the review.

I dont know if you are interested in the M Roadster, I know someone who is selling his with all the toys and Interlagos for a good price! 169144-ok.gif

Oh and the M doesnt have run flat tyres and also has IMO the sharper hydraulic steering set up whereas the 3.0 has the electric set up which is shite IMO.

Plus the 3.0Si will probably be worth £12k in 4 years where as the Z4M will be around £18k I would think? So shouldn't be any more to run.

It took me 8 weeks to get to even start to get to grips with the CSL, then started to realise just how hard you could push it.

You need more than an hour, I was thinking 'should have bought an RS4, should have bought an RS4....' for the first 6 weeks of onwership, and then....... smile.gif

I have gone back to Quattro with the S4, and just not the same, however much I love Audi I don't think I will buy another one again.

I am at that stage now! Some dry weather and more nerve has provided some truely jaw dropping cornering speeds in the CSL. I would love a drive in the Z4MC to compare the two! 169144-ok.gif

Looking forward to your review Lottiefox. beerchug.gif
