Anybody know where in the East/North Yorkshire/York/Hull area, I can get my Audi Blade cut? I've bought a new key fob with a blank blade, but I've been to 5 different key cutters today and they have all said they can't cut this type of key and don't know where I could get it done?!

To program the key to lock and unlock the car use the guide at AudiWorld. smile.gif

Unless you have the 4 or 7 digit code for your car (usually found on a small plastic tag originally attached to the key ring) and VAG-COM you'll need to visit a stealer to get the key coded to your immobiliser. This requires them to connect your car to a modem which talks to Audi Germany in order to look up the correct codes, which in turn means a charge of half an hour's labour (probably more than you paid for the key!). frown.gif

P.S. Did you get my PM re. key cutting?

The key i got for the car is 4DO 837 231 K, however, the car won't lock/unlock via remote from this key? I've replaced the one battery with a brand new one and still the key wont control the car. Could it be a duff key?

I have found via etka that 'K' should relate to A6/S6/TT's 2000 onwards. So maybe need another part, A or D maybe? But surely, the remote shuld still work regardless??

got a 4DO 837 231 A key for my car today. THe remote works the central locking. Tried using vag-com and the 4-digit SKC to enable it to my car but the key won't respond to my immo.

After contacting Audi, during 97 there was a change of the way the immo's worked. Fixed code and Rolling Code (new flip keys). A mix of the new way it works were rolled out along with fixed coding. Appears mine has the fixed code immo as it has a seperate immo unit, where the newer immo unit is in the intsrument cluster (17 on vag-com).

Vag-com can't or won't read address 17 on my car indicating the separate immo box.

So, I have two keys for sale now. 231 A and 231 K (S6/A6/TT). Pm me if your interested in a spare for your car. Both in great condition.

yes and no! my audi came with fixed keys. 4DO 231 837. but the manual states it should come with flip keys. so got key 4DO 231 837A. But Audi said flip keys are rolling coded and fixed keys are fixed coding. Some A8 came with fixed keys but have rolling coding on them. Obviously mine is just fixed coding.

Yes i am using 311.2 registered vag-com.
