18ME
My dad has decided to sell his plate thats on his A4 at the moment. He was going to put it on his other car but has changed his mind, so its up for sale. I've not really got a clue what its worth. He's had it for quite a few years now. RobGTi
Nice, any idea on price? Even a rough ball park figure?
18ME
[ QUOTE ] Nice, any idea on price? Even a rough ball park figure? [/ QUOTE ] Well, he's been looking at the Sunday Times today and noticed that people are asking huge amounts for plates so he's thinking £50,000 I would have thought closer to £10,000 but thats just my opinion. Plates are only worth what someone is willing to pay and is relevant to them.

Linky [/ QUOTE ] Trying to tell my dad one thing and him thinking another is quite frustrating I think that my guess would be closer to the value then. 4 MEN obviously more relevant than 6 MEN in terms of a saying etc but yes just a bit more than that one. 4 MEN sold for £3500 plus premiums etc in 1990 and 6 MEN sold for £2500 in 2003. CabGirl
A private sale at 10k would sound about right.
18ME
[ QUOTE ] It sounds a little ummmnn, queer? [/ QUOTE ] He used to have it on a 911 years ago and didn't quite like the attention so my stepmum used to drive it instead. Thats the reason why he won't put it on his Porsche now, and is only taking 4 MEN off the Audi because he's Bought John's A4 AWD.

18ME
[ QUOTE ] I recon mines about the same! [/ QUOTE ] I remember yours from the summer meets but I can't quite remember the exact numbers/figures although I imagine theres a C in it. I'd never sell mine as its totally personal to me and I'd never get one as good again for less than £10k, but my dad only bought his as a bit of fun and not relevant to anything. He actually wanted PAN1C but that went for more than his bid. I think the DVLA did sealed bids back then.

[/ QUOTE ] He did think that a clergyman may buy it, but I told him no ones going to buy a plate of that value and have to distort it in anyway "AMEN"
Calm Chris
Sell it to the church. Amen...... £30k if you can find a church that would pay for it, they'd rather have things gifted. Ask a reg co to offer a valuation.
