Firstly Hello Again - it's been a while since I have posted on here.

Right down to the bits....

I currently have an Jan06 55 plate Audi S4 Avant (10k on the clock, Sprint Blue, Alcatra/Leather, GSM prep, Parking Sensors, BOSE, Sunroof) and want to replace it with an O7 RS4 Avant.

Do I :-

a) part-ex with the stealer - if so , what can I expect for it , looked on Parker and it says about £29k?

b) sell it privately - if so , how much and where should I try to sell it. or is it not worth the extra hassle?

TIA

Marc

You will be lucky to get trade price in a private sale mate without Nav, maybe worth considering putting this in, will help it sell.

May be better to get a trade in price with a dealer that has a low mileage one owner car, otherwise you are going to get shafted.

Yep touch your toes buttcheeks.gif

yelrotflmao.gif I just had to slip that in after the previous post.

But seriously you will struggle for a goosd price with no sat-Nav, one of the guys on here can do it for you: Craigb.

See as Guy says if a stealer has a low mileage avante and do a deal. 169144-ok.gif

Dealer has the RS4 Avant (going to see it on Thursday) and is going to get another couple of cars out of the deal (an S8 and probably an A6) so there should be some margin for negotiation.

Just wondered if there was any point in trying to sell privately or it there not enough margin to justify the aggro (bit different to the days of selling my renault 19 blush.gif ) - dont really want every tom dick and harry round just out for the joyride.

Yep our type of cars always attract "joyriders" with no insurance, PX possibly the best way to go, just haggle hard and don't be fobbed off with the usual b*llsh*t these stealers give you, if they won't offer a good deal tell them another dealer offered more and you will use them 169144-ok.gif

Kid them along coss they will you. 169144-ok.gif

Don't bother. The S4 is plenty good enough and you will get trousered making that change. If you had taken an RS4 a few months after the S4 rather than getting the S4 you would have spent £15k more. Now it will cost you £30k more instead!

I've been here before myself. The best solution is always to do nothing.

Merlin, couldn't agree more but BIG difference is, its not my money - its a company car, so no probs changing it. Boss knows nothing about cars, but knows you generally get more money privately - but I will get the job of selling it, if there is only a couple of grand in it, then I would prefer to sell it to the stealer.
