shipy
Anyone changed to the narrower tyres they’re 1.24% smaller so within the normal tolerance, but offer considerable savings and as I need all 4 it’s an ideal opportunity.
chasdrury
Yes I have 225/40. Dealer had them fitted to my car. I will be going back to 235/40 next change now that I know they shouldn't really be on the car... Unless anyone has a reason I should stick with 225? kenny_boon
i think some of the aftermarket replica alloys come with the smaller size on them
gizze
I wouldn't bother, you will be strecthing the tyre which in itself is not a problem, but you will have no rim protection and the small saving in tyre cost will soon get gobbled up by wheel repair. It won't feel as planted either.
Cupramax
[ QUOTE ] i think some of the aftermarket replica alloys come with the smaller size on them [/ QUOTE ] Unless you ask them to fit the right ones I have a set of RS4 reps with 225's on BTW. The car is fine on them aside the speedo being slightly out but I will be getting a set of 235's on for when they go back on in the summer. MikeA2B
I changed to 225's as 235's catch the inner wheelarch cover, no difference in handling.
