Luke
interested how many people are running Sky HD. Is it worth it at the moment?
bells0
I've got it. For the extra £10 a month [ie 33p a day] it's deffo worth it. Even standard def stuff seems better [possibly because it's going over hdmi/digital cable, so less quality loss??]. Football is night and day over sd. Movies less so, but still clearer. It can only get better though as more stuff is made in HD and more channels are started.
shark_90
I can't justify £300 for the box. If it was £100, I would get it tomorrow.
craigyb
It has dropped to £200 now as far as I know
Thorburn
[ QUOTE ] Even standard def stuff seems better [possibly because it's going over hdmi/digital cable, so less quality loss??]. [/ QUOTE ] Cuts out the digital > analogue and then analogue > digital conversions.

craigyb
From a user on AUdi Sport Just ordered a brand new SKY HD box from www.pennineplus.com Authorised SKY dealer. £200 delivered. If you have SKY+ already, the box just switches over,so no need for a £60 install. Same wiring etc. Then it's just a case of calling SKY and getting them to upgrade your card down the line. Piece of proverbial. I'm afraid there's no way of avoiding the £10 a month for HD subscription, but at least you've saved £99 on the box itself. Gaunty
I've got it, but only because I hated the fact that I'd got a HDMI socket on the back of my TV and nothing plugged into it. A mate of mine has the Virgin Media V+ HD system which is very similar to Sky HD in all except price, they have a problem with content at the moment though. Just got a new TV so now running via HDMI as opposed to Component and the improvement is very significant. Jon.
