wyliss
What stuff would you say is good for the black external parts on my car i.e. the grill etc ?
NeilScarrott
These bits are always a royal pain in the arse. I was doing mine today, you could just use something like Meguiars APC diluted 10 parts water to 1 part APC, but I found a product I like recently called Meguiars Heavy Duty Vinyl cleaner, nice product which seems to work well. To finish I used 303 Aerospace protectant which leaves a nice factory finish, I really love this product, its great on window rubbers and the interior dash too, well worth having in your kit. You could dress these parts with many different dressing, the 303 doesn't seem to leave any marks on my paint after a shower and lasts well. wyliss
What about the poorboys exterior stuff...anybody used it ?
NeilScarrott
Sorry, APC = All Purpose Cleaner, I use the Meguiars APC, it has a gazillion uses, use it on the interior, engine bay, arches etc. etc. 303 Aerospace protectant and the APC can be had from polished bliss

Excellent stuff. I use it on all sorts of the interior and exterior plastics. APC = All Purpose Cleaner, I guess?
ahaydock
Another vote for APC here. For dressing you maybe able to use your tyre gel (if you use some) depending on what it is. I use Megs Endurance Gel on my tyres and find that OK on my black plastic parts. Doesn't hurt to try...
wyliss
So basically the apc and the aerospace stuff is tops, I'd have thought poorboys would have made something decent though. The bits dont have that silcone slimey feeling to them do they?, all I am after is a nice finish similar to when the car is new. Cheers guys ! ahaydock
The APC and 303 are good. For Poorboys dressings you could try Poorboys Natural Look Dressing, which can also be used on your interior.
steelwind101
Do be careful with APC since it can, if you do not get the right dilution ratio bleach your trim. Autoglm Bumper Care is a good stuff for your blacks, it acutally cleans, restores and protects. 303 is really good at keeping things looking nice but im not sure about its restoring qualities. After using APC you would want to put back oils etc. in to any abosorbant plastic surface. Geoff

wyliss
So basically clean with apc then put some protectant back in like the poorboys natural look stuff???
steelwind101
Natural Look wont last the week if your a daily driver. Trim Restorer is good as ins AG bumper care. But basically apply after APC. Geoff

UBM
If it's an S-line you want it to look grey. If it isn't you want it to look black. I use the general trim dressing from Pinaacle.
