Golfer
Well this is the second new A8 I have had in two years, both Sat-Nav systems are quite frankly CRAP. Just how often do the road maps get updated?. Half the roads I need to access are not even on the F**king system. I really think a "Portable" Nav like Tom Tom would be the best option. Anyone care to comment.
TDiAvant
Have you got the latest 2007 MMI DVD?
craigyb
Yep, new disk available, but I think you know that.
shark_90
How come you do nothing but complain about Audis? Buy another brand if you're that bothered

It's a superb piece of kit, which quite frankly is superb to use, and very effective. It won't matter which system you had, they all pretty much use the same maps as the basis for their systems. At least my Audi nav doesn't send me the wrong way up a one way street, not once but twice within 3 minutes!!!

Would you be complaining?. PS) I hate to say this but the new lexus I had 2(TWO)years ago had a much more comprehensive mapping disk than this one!! craigyb
Yes it does have more mapping info on it.
Dave_G6HNI
Well I've been using a TomTom Go for over a year and have just retrofitted my A4 Cab with an RNS-E and already I've noticed how much more info you get from the Nav Lady than I did from the TomTom Go. The only down side I can find is not being able to add Safety Camera POI's
garcon magnifique
audijohn, if you want your satnav map to be that up to date, you're just going to have to buy a new car more often...

Merlot
I just can't understand why Audi Nav does not take the 2nd half of the postcode. It makes finding rural addresses where there are no streets impossible. There is a roundabout near Glasgow on the A80 which is now not there as a flyover has been built. Its a hoot having nav tell you to take the 2nd exit on a straight road.
rottenbend
Is it something to do with licensing the database from the Royal Mail? There's no technical reason why it couldn't do it.
Tizzy
I've used recent Tom Tom's in other cars, they don't even come close to the accuracy and instruction clarity of my RNSe Nav Plus - the 2007 disk seems to have quite a lot of updates - such as the A1 / M62 interchange, that wasn't on the 2006 disc. My RNSe has never tried to send me down a one way street or an unmetalled road - Tom Tom's have done this on several occasions!
A8_Tony
TomTom's taken me down roads that have no exit before trying to get somewhere. These roads, judging by the undergrowth that was there, had been closed for some many years!!
allroadman
All navigation systems , do not mean that you cannot switch off from good old common sense and a idea of direction. I have got a Tom Tom in my own car and RNSe in my work car, and both have taken me the wrong way. Audi buy in the mapping system which is also used in many other car makers. If you are having problems with your car, i would suggest maybe try calling A8 customer care 08081014888.
