Ska
Had them lying around for a while but wasn't keen on the short head bolts for the rears so moded some longer ones to fit. The differenc is subtle but effective I think. Set up includes: 19x8 ET35 RS6's FK hubcentrics front 20mm/axle and rear 30mm/axle. kermitfrog
Big improvement , not that it looked bad in any way before you understand! Funny how the simplest of small changes can sometimes make the biggest difference. Looks almost Anarge-esque in the rear 3/4 view.
Botang
Ive never been a fan of spacers, Audi engineers spend ages getting the track of the car just right and then you go and change it, and not in the best method either as I presume its putting more stress on the wheel bolts. Atomic
True I guess but surely it's no worse than fitting wheels with non standard offsets? And concievably oversized tyres would impact as well?
Botang
Im not sure how much of a difference it would make, Ideally you would fit larger rear wheels with a different offset as Alexrs6 has on his S8.
Ska
[ QUOTE ] Ive never been a fan of spacers, Audi engineers spend ages getting the track of the car just right and then you go and change it, and not in the best method either as I presume its putting more stress on the wheel bolts. [/ QUOTE ] That's why I went for hubcentric spacers; only the Lateral loads are taken by the wheel bolts the vertical is taken by the mounting lip sort of like a bearing with only 180degress of it being loaded at any one time. The common mistake by people is to fit ones with no mounting collar so then the vertical loads are taken by the bolts as well I was concerend about causing any extra stress so this why I opted for for these spacers. To drive they feel more sure footed with less body roll, took some getting used to but will have to keep any eye out on the tyre tread in the coming weeks
Botang
Fair play Ska, I noticed that after I had posted . They look well made, Ive seen some that are no more than a posh washer which I dont like, Yours are more like an extension to the hub
Ska
To be fair to you Matt there may be minimal front tyre scrub when turning as the the Ackerman linkage will be out a few degrees. Oh well! I'll just have to drive in a striaght line then
