TheEdge
Hi all Im looking at an alternative to using Gold class wax and going for NXT as ive heard alot of good things about it on this forum i Have a deep blue VW R32 and been using Gold class for nearly a year and a half now and pleased with the Gold Class results just wondered if I can do any better with NXT? Any advice would be appreciated thanks all
CarMad
NXT is great for the sparkle but it doesn't last that long. I use Zaino Z2 Pro which last a very long time its one of the best out there. If I want it to look a bit special put the NXT on top, it looks fantastic then. steelwind101
NXT tends to look less sharpe quicker then people would like, It protects for a good 6 weeks though. Prep and location pay a large part in how and HOW the products will acutally look. Gold Class offers a more reflective look then NXT. NXT gives a much more vibrant look on dark blue its a real toss up in how you want it to look!! GEOFF!!
Tarmac_Terrorist
How does the durability of the Megs NXT compare with that of Autoglym EGP or UDS?
steelwind101
Hi Tarmac Do you mean in terms of looks or acutally durability of the product?? NXT has a great looks which do wear off before protection does. I would give UDS about a 3-4 weeks on a daily driver and NXT 4-5 weeks. EGP two coats, maybe 3 months?!?! Depends on how often you wash, if you use QD's and what you drive in or near!! Geoff
Tarmac_Terrorist
Thanks Geoff, My car only goes out at weekends and is washed on average every two weeks depending on weather conditions. It was durability I was interested in.
fresco1
Hi TT, I use NXT quite a lot and can confirm it's about a 2 month product - i.e. light use, car in garage a lot as you know, but after 2 months or so it's like a bog standard finish. I don't mind reapplying it, but it is a fair bit of effort. Next time I would go for Collinite, but my right arm is still aching from the last detailing session ... Tarmac_Terrorist
Cheers Fresco1 - I was thinking of trying some NXT. I tend to reapply a sealent or wax every 2-3 months so that would suite me fine
steelwind101
Tarmac Megs #21 sealant is VERY similar to NXT but lasts a lot longer and looks better for longer. Its well worth giving ago if you want the "candy coated" NXT looks with more assurances about how long it will last. Collinite really only provides one type looks and might not be to everyones tastes. Geoff
Tarmac_Terrorist
Thanks Geoff, I need to try some new products and experiment - particularly now the weather should start to improve, it makes it so much more worthwhile
