Milo
Has anyone successfully fitted 3 Thule 591 bike carriers to the roof bars on the avant? I currently have 2 but ideally would like to add a 3rd. Load wise even with 3 bikes it should be within the load limit of the rails/bars and there should be enough space to mount 3 carriers. But I'm concerned about being able to safely get the middle bike on and off with damaging anything. Has anyone done it or do they know of any problems? SPLiiX
I must order 2 more Thule bike carriers. I actually thought it would fit four!? But take what I say with a pinch of salt - Look how DUMB I was with a bike rack here
chrisan
Hi Milo, Following on from your advice a few weeks ago, I recently got the Thule Aero bars, but went for 3 Atera GIRO cycle carriers that roofbox currently have a deal on. The way I fit them is to fix the carrier near the edge of the bars, firmly fasten the bike to the carrier, then loosen off the carrier from the bars so the whole thing slides to the centre. You always have the option to mount the middle bike in reverse so the handle bars don't clash. Cheers
Milo
I read that mate and I cringed for you I'm sure 3 would fit but wouldn't mind hearing first hand from someone who's done it. By the way, the cheapest I've found the Thule 591 is £58.99 delivered
