pbaldacchino
Hiya, I am a newbie to TS.net, and I am a newbie to owning a BMW. I have recently purchased a Z4M roadster. So far I am thrilled with it. I have been googling, and have also searched the forums for retro fitting of the TV function... It seems this isn't something readily available. Am I wrong? Would be great to keep the other half occupied with watching Dancing on ice whilst looking after the car to help prevent numpties bashing their doors against the Z4M in the local carpark. Any help would be muchly appreciated... And OMG, what a car! Thanks, PaulB..
JAYDR32
Great car Paul, congratulations!! You dont say if you have Sat Nav and just want to add the TV function? pbaldacchino
Great, thanks JDRM3 ... I'll take a look now ... The car has nav professional, so I was hoping it would be possible to retro fit ... I know, I know .... Having such a car, with such a great engine note and performance - Why would anyone be concerned with TV!!! So far, just under two weeks of owning the car it really has impressed. An ex TVR owner, happy as a pig in .... Cheers! PaulB..
gizze
You could fit a dvd player far easier, can you even choose the TV option with a roadster?? Where do the aerials go, in the bumper? I would look for the parts on german ebay, loads of diital tuners and bumper antennas for BMWs on there for next to nothing.
pbaldacchino
Yes, the TV function is a factory option... Not sure where aerials are positioned..... If I manage to find a solution, I'll post an update... thanks for the advice gIzzE, I'll look on German eBay... Cheers, PB..
gizze
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...hg=65&fg=95 Forget teh picture but that is the part number you need, all individual parts will come up if you give your dealer that number, maybe call them and ask them to fax you a part list? pbaldacchino
Fortunately don't need to worry about that bit. The car has the Nav Professional installed so the screen's already there ( Phew!). Cheers, PB..

pbaldacchino
Thanks for the link ... Just to add, I received a voicemail from a local BMW dealer. Basically the guy said there isn't an official tested UK spec kit available. The cost, including fitting (I think) would be in the region of £1600.. Hmm, far too much IMO... & honestly, it's really not that big a deal in such a fantastic car. Cheers for the tips / advice.. PB.
roger482
Give a decent car audio place a call, I would be very surprised if they could not sort it out for you.
