RedRobin
....Titled "Performance Tuner" - http://www.performancetuner.co.uk The first issue includes: - Hot hatch group head-to-head . - Track fight between modded BMW Z3M and standard Z4M Coupes. - Don Palmer FWD vs RWD vs 4WD feature. - APS R300 R32 feature [Richard, I'll bring you my mag copy when we meet next week]. - How to: Go on a Track Day. Plus news 'n reviews etc. Also some good reader offers such as 20% off Eibach products. The mag attracted me enough to buy it rather than just read it in WHSmith's high street 'library' as I usually do. Cost £3.95 - Good value I reckon. I probably won't subscribe but I'll deffo check it out each month. Btw, no pics of Nicci or other babes on/in cars.
ChrisBuer
Haha I remember this magazine as Ed at APS mentioned it too me. However every time I hear the name Performance Tuner I think of a "hot rod angling magazine" Anyway good post and something I'm interested in reading, not only for the APS car but also for my friend Mr Don Palmer (HPC Gatekeeper )
RedRobin
This first issue at least, is a good one. I haven't read everything yet but what I have read is excellent imo. It's deffo "intelligent" tuning and nothing 'max-power'. Your friend Don Palmer has actually written the words of his feature . The mag is looking like the sort of publication which may appeal to TSNers (except possibly for no babes pics!).
ChrisBuer
Don is a top chap and an amazing driver. He does training days up at Bruntingthorpe where he originally did his "Wetter the Better" courses. Last time I saw Don we were at 44 degrees sideways in a BMW M3!! Excellent stuff!! In fact come to think of it, Don spends most of his time sideways haha! He was down at an HPC event at Millbrook a few months back and was driving the Alpine course looking out of the side window apparently He's also a very interesting chap and has a lot of theories on life in general, oh and he's totally whacky! Soundwave
hmm. sounds pretty good.. Have always been interested in 'intelligent' tuning of cars in a kind of q-car way, but the tuning world as a whole just seemed to become unavoidably max-power. This put me off. To discover that there is now a tuning mag available without all the maxpower rubbish fills me with excitement and i'll definitely give it a look.. Cheers Red
RedRobin
It's not completely "Q-car", afterall you can't hide some mods! But it's giving a priority on safe performance before posing on the street or Tesco carpark. Let's hope the mag continues in the spirit in which it has started and that it sells copies. Btw, I have no connection or vested interest.
charding370
As some people are having problems finding a copy locally there is a subscripton offer for £2.50 a copy for 6 months and when I called them they promised to send out 1st class on Monday. RedRobin
Second issue now out . Looks as good as the first issue. Deffo cars to interest Mose, Bo55, Bazza, et al. For Audi fans there's the extremely tasty looking oettinger Audi A3. This is the first A3 I've seen that excites me. I'll bring both issues to the Windsor meet for peeps to peruse.
