pritesh
Fellow TNS members... I have finally found my self a better role and I now need to write a Letter of Resignation. Does anyone have a sample laying about that I could view? Also what should I do if my direct/immediate Manager is not in the office to accept my resignation? cheers P
davyk31
If your direct manager is not available then you need to give the letter to their superior. There really is no such thing as not accepting your resignation as all contracts of employment can be terminated by either party if you give the notice stated in the contract. Just keep the letter short. State that it is with regret that you have to resign your post, give the date you wish to leave, thank them for the opportunities they have given you and wish their company well in the future. You do not have to state any reason for your decision and keep it friendly and polite as you do not know when you might want their help in the future. Dave
Good advice from Dave. I would agree that it's not good to burn bridges, even though you may feel like it.
pritesh
Yea I hear that although they have pi**ed on me royally I'm not going to drop to their level. Still going to walk out a professional. I expect I'll be given "gardening" leave as I work in a client facing environment everyday.

pritesh
The plot thickens...I went back to two other companies that I had second interviews lined up for and told them honestly that I have been made and offer which I am likely to accept. Both came back with offers on the table! so now have to choose! I got nothing for the 7 months I was looking flat out and now all of a sudden they dont stop comming in! pritesh
Nope Im not! ... Is it normal when you hand your notice in for management not to respond to this? I handed my notice in on monday directly to HR and I emailed my line manager as he was out of the country at the time and also emailed the director of our group. I wasnt going to wait for a few days to hand in my notice. Within mins the director called me and talked it over with me, however my direct line manager has yet to even utter a word about it to me! Is this normal?
