smipx013
Hi there, I would like to know if it is possible to retro fit a front driver centre armrest to the new Golf. Anyone any idea what it might cost? Does it need a new seat as well (as I think the armrest slots into the side of the seat? Many thanks. Tarmac_Terrorist
Hi Paul, I've not done it but I believe I've read that it can be done. Maybe worth checking with VW parts dept to see what they would charge. You'll also need to make sure that the arm rest fabric matches your intereior too. If I remember correctly, fitting it isn't too difficult but don't expect the rear air vents to work! Maybe worth doing some searches on here as I'm sure it's been done and featured before
_Tone_
Hmm from my experience asking VW to do it can cost ya £400 odd - the whole centre console is actually different and requires replacing in order to hold the arm rest and its box. You may find it cost prohibitive but worth a call to the parts dept of the local VW dealer. Good luck with it!
Matt R
Yes it can be done, Parts are around £250ish, You can also buy the ducting for a bit mor to make the rear air vents work! We have fitted a few now, the only problem is the labour time to do it is about 3.5 hours usually have to take the seats out also to do!
