Vagabond
Is it due every 12 months, regardless of mileage?
Ian_G
Mine is set to long life(?) or whatever it is called. Dealer explained last week that first service is due at 1) 19,000 miles or 2) service indicator comes on or 3) 24 months whichever happens first. dharr999
Not sure what mine is set to. Is there a way of finding out what the service milage is set to using the Highline Computer?
packa
If you are not sure ? Look at what your Garage has supplied you as a top up oil?? If you find CASTROL SLX LonglifeII OW-30 then you are running long service >Which depending on your right foot?? Your car will tell you to visit your nearset VW service center with 1000 miles to go. Ian_G
Just habit I suppose, didn't seem right not to change oil in a new car. 3K was as long I could bear not doing it .
packa
I also did button push tonight when i climbed from my day chariot(Transit Connect 230LX, Even has air con )The missus uses car through week ,One reason why touareg went(16.8MPG) but i still got high teens before service.R has 3358 at moment service due 6000K or 284 Days 10,000K, my last scooby did better than that. Looks like daughter will be doing school run in a tranny for a while so as i can get some out of town mieage on the R to bump service schedule abit Dobe

Maxyboy
Mine is just short of 5k miles and is flashing for a service now. It is coming up for 1 year old now too. Surely that cant be a long life service? If it isnt, does that make the service cheaper?

Maxyboy
I have just been quoted £140 for a time and distance service at the vw dealer, and if it was on a longlife it would have been £220. Does this seem fair? I am tempted to go to a local specialist but seeing as i need a new rear wiper motor(again) i could combine the two and go to the dealer. kevjohn
Mine has just reached 13 months old - It's on 'longlife' however only lasted 11983 miles. Cost £254 inc vat and rear wiper blade
