Decked
Yeah, that sounds a bit low! I'd be after 11-12K from a dealer! what year is it? Ok, it's a 53, possibly more than 12 depending on what nick it's in.
R32Ash
£9k is waaaay too low, mate. It sounds like they really don't want to take it off you - they go for more than that with a lot more than 70k miles on the clock. If you're asking what it should be worth privately, I'd be trying for £14k to begin with and work from there.
ian_m
Yeah, 12k sounds about right - more if possible
garcon magnifique
The mileage is the killer. Sounds like a dealer who only wants low milers on his pitch and would trade it on.
Decked
I reckon you could stick it on "an auction site" for buy now @ 12K and it would go fairly quickly!

Oatz
To give you a guide I traded my 03 with 30k on the clock (although I was the 5th owner) for £14k and that was against my V6 (which I also managed to negotiate the above glasses trade in price for) I was pretty fliipin chuffed with this deal especially considering the ownership thing on my .:R.... Mook
Selling it privately, you should expect to get up to £12K for it, based on the miles. They're still holding their value well, even with high mileage. The dealer has offered you a low price to start the bartering process, but, if you can, always try to sell it privately. I just sold Mrs Mook's car on eBay and got exactly what we wanted for it, which was based on the private sale price according to www.glass.co.uk, so it's worth persisting. Welcome to Tyresmoke, by the way
