gkyle
About 6 months ago i was experiencing some problems with my R the engine was going to safe mode and cutting out however on restart was ok. i called vw and they wouldn’t tow me in and told me to try and drive! (30mph on a duel carriageway is not good especially when it cuts out) so vw had it in for 2weeks (car still under warranty) to replace the throttle body and when i picked it up it cut out 300meters down the road, it ends up going in another 2times and they still don’t know what’s wrong i have a list as long as my arm the things they changed. So I go to pick it up for a third time and I take my mate down who is a TRAINEE mechanic and the general manger reassures me he said “the tec took it home (did not consult me on this) over night and it was fixed” so really excited to finally pick it up all is good but then a mile or so down the road guess what. So i pop the bonnet and we hav a look my mate took about 2secs to find the problem a hose had disconnected from the top of the engine we plugged it back in and hav never had a problem since! Anyway sorry about the length wat I want to know is wat the useless ***** at vw hav been doing needless to say I hav not been back to them and hav my car serviced and stuff elsewhere!!! Y do we pay them all this money when they don’t hav a clue wat there doing wouldn’t going to specialised make more sense!

BrakeSnake
That's a bloody big worrying thought. Would make my life a hell of a lot more miserable and stressful
gkyle
yea especially as the warranty has now ended. But I hadn’t had the car long and I paid £17,000 with 30k miles on it and it went in for the 40k service at the same garage and that’s when all the problems started! Its now done nearly 60k no warranty and is worth peanuts so am going to keep it and hav started changing a few things !

Soulboy
I bet VW Uk wold be thrilled to know that they have forked out a small fortune to a dealer on warranty work - when all they needed to do was push a hose on.
