Smoke Bomb

My car has a faint smell of smoke returning after a few attempts to get rid of it. When I bought the car the dealer apparently used a "smoke bomd" to get rid the smell but it appears to need a repeat treatment.

I have tried asking the dealer but I get no answer, does anyone here know where I can get hold of these things or indeed any other way to get rid of smoke smells? I have tried neutradol/ megs odour eliminator and it is much improved but I just want something to try and get the last bit out

Thanks

Steaming is not a hard job, you just need to get the equipment. Im not sure what a smokebomb is, but Chemical Guys offer car scents that are much superior to most you can get and they are quite strong and long lasting. Maybe you could try them to help mask the smell - spray into the vents!

Another area to clean out is the steering colum plastic shrouding, ash falls behind it leaving cigarette smell, also pull the drivers door card off as well, and if possible the area behind the ashtray.

Those smoke bombs are like a fogger in a can, its a total release aerosol that is put in the car released and left to do its work, however they normally only mask the smell for a short while.

Def. give the headling a good clean, you don't have to steam it, just get some good quality foam cleaner and a damp sponge, but don't over wet the headlining otherwise you can cause the headlining to sag.

I have had the whole centre console out, loads of ash underneath, I didn't really think about the steering column.

I have to admit being a little worried about messing up the headlining, anyone know of a good cleaner thay would not goive too much risk of messing it up.

Thanks for all the advice so far, the most effective thing up till not has been a bottle of megs odour eliminator, most of which has been sprayed on the headlining with some around the carpets and seats. Has reduce the smell just need to get rid of the last little bit.

MARK,

Autoglym do a good foam cleaner. Foam doesnt soak so much so it dries quicker.

Personally i would say Woolite mixed 10-1 with water in a spray bottle with a MF then wipe over with a damp MF.

I have never head hed liner issues, this weather i would say go for a nice driver afterwards so the heaters dry any residue up!!
