Lads holiday - where??

Ok, here's the deal...

I've landed a week away with a mate as the GF is away on a friends hen-week! Touch.

So where do we go? We're not looking to spend more than £400-£500 each on the basic holiday cost. We're looking for good night life, nice beaches and reasonably cheap food/beer. Haven't been on this kind of holiday for some time so I'm not too sure on what's currently "hot" 123576-assfeck.gif and what's not.

I'm thinking Cyprus, Zante, or maybe even the Costa del sol? But what do I know... confused.gif

Costa del Sol is great but gets bloody hot in the main summer months (40+ regularly) and its no longer cheap and chearful since the Euro swindle came in plus its full of UK retirees. I've stayed in various places around Marbella which is great but will cost you as much as here if not more for drinks. Still prefer Mallorca to be honest, always good for a lads session.

Last week in May is spring bank week isn't it. My company shuts down that week too, which is a pain as all holiday cost twice as much!!

Am thinking about Vegas for 6 nights, is looking like it will be £600 each staying at the MGM, which i think is pretty good [thats me and the Mrs though].

Yeah, anywhere in particular? Never been there before so wouldn't know my ass from my elbow. 169144-ok.gif

Take you pick, Magaluf is where all the fun is but best to stay in Palma Nova (next beach up the coast) which is the quiet end of the resort so if you need to veg out inbetween the bingeing you can. Santa Ponsa is also nice but is more of a family resort. Loads of good hotels in that area. 169144-ok.gif

Marbella/Puertobanus.

Cheap flights, hire a car for the days. Great transport links into Marbella & Puertobanus. Fit women, not a place full of yobs.

Last bus into town at 11pm, first bus back at 6.00am. Breakfast at 1.30pm, lunch at 7pm, dinner at 01.00am.

Been the last three years to Palma Majorca in May. Brilliant place and excellent if you like golf, beaches, good restaurants and good weather. Cheap and cheerful, Globespan flights and stayed at 3* Trypt Bosch Hotel (spelling may be wrong). Not on the sea-front but taxi's are easy and realistic on price. 169144-ok.gif

Ok, so I'm thinking Palma Nova...

Who else has been? Where did you stay?

Might see you there! Looks like a few mates are going there around the end of May... and they mentioned it to me last night. Now I just have to think of a way to get round MrsChaps. grin.gif

I've heard good things about this place grin.gif

I went to Magalluf for a week with the boys last year. We stayed in the TRH Palma Nova Apartments. It was about 2 minutes walk down to the main strip which was enough to keep us away from noise etc at night.

Some of the group had reservations about going to Magalluf but we were all very impressed - the place was clean, friendly etc and we saw no trouble and less (overly) drunken behaviour than we expected.

We all said that we'd go there again 169144-ok.gif

Quality mate!

We're looking at booking it independently. Return flights Gatwick to Palma with Easyjet are £230, plus 1 week in a sea view apartment at the 4* Ponent Mar Apartments on a B&B basis is £420. So £650 for two. Sweet.

Just got to work out how much it's gonna cost us to get from Palma airport to the resort now.

Anyone?
