thanks again guys

Ah yes, that'll be one or more of your ABS/ speed sensors at the front if its happening on turning. It breaks internally where it loops between the suspension and the hub due to a life of err turning the wheel. Fix is either replace at £90+vat each (they are push fit easy job). Or remove and take out the offending break and resolder (which is what I did). Sometimes if you have a lot of crap on the wire it does this too as I found out when my CV boot exploded sending grease all over it so it stutered sort off on moving off. see pic 169144-ok.gif

Or it could just be dirt on the sensor itself (proly not as its only doing it on turning) but theres more on Audipages 169144-ok.gif

surely if there was any problem at all with the ABS sensor it would bring the light on?

mine did!

i think he's just desribing the normal the "Normal" tyre scrub/transmission wind up you get pulling out on full lock?

this happens on all 4wd cars

plus the ABS wouldn't even be active if the brake pedal wasn't depressed!

I dont know about the tyre scrub as mines fwd but it may have something to do with the traction control if not the ABS as that must use the speed sensor too. The symptom is very distinctive and happens at crawl speed (just moving off and/or turning); its as if you've dabbed at the stop pedal under ABS opperation for a second, tyre scrub wouldn't impede the cars forward motion as much, this litterally stops it for a second.

The light does not come on always 169144-ok.gif

You can see where it normally breaks more clearly from this pic... grin.gif

Thanks for all you input guys ... i did wonder about the 4wd scrub/wind up but it seems a little too intrusive for that.

its hard to make a diagnosis without feeling the problems first hand, at least now you have a warning light confirmation of your fault 169144-ok.gif

as for repair, when the light came on in my car i cut & soldered in a new length of wire, did it in october & spot on ever since 169144-ok.gif

much cheaper than a new sensor wink.gif
