Dadstoys
After a couple of years of using a £24.99 electric orbital type buffing wheel ( from Argos ) I want to invest in a reasonable bit of kit to do the job properly. Any recommendations on:- A good buffing machine ? Suitable pads ? Suitable compounds ? Ideally I want a mild cut / high polish product, not a ten stage process - I currently use some motor trade orange looking liquid paste which works ok. Thanks in advance ! steelwind101
Hello There is really only one bit of kit that will cut this and its called Portor Cable. Last i heard Meguiars UK were selling there own version though things seem less certain now. You can either one purchase your "PC" from the USA via some links and discounts codes someone will mention (I dont have them!!) at around £170 all in as you can get some pads and polish. YOu will need to get a voltage adapter etc. ORRRR if £20-£30 isnt much to you then contact RON @ Motorgeek. I spoke with him earlier in the year and he will supply complete PC kits from around £200 with some polishes, pads, the buffer, the voltage adapter etc. including delivery. If you let us know what cars you have we can advise the best polishes, we hope you wont need to go near compounds!! Geoff PS. As a side note i have a Cyclo its 2 smaller heads that buffer together and is £215 and its all UK specific. It has more power then a PC but is just as safe. It might be slightly more awkard at first, again see Motorgeek.co.uk as he has them on there under CYCLO products.

steelwind101
The last three cars have hard paintwork and many people would recommend the Menzerna line of polishes. I also recommend the Optimum products for this kinda job!!

[/ QUOTE ] I have an identical polisher to the Cyclo that is made in Scandanavia by Biltema. It is variable speed and more powerful than the PC. But again it is safe to use. The bonus part is they cost about 60-70 quid. _The downside is they are only available in Scandanavia. It is cheaper than the both the PC and cyclo. I have a Audi and it has successfully managed to de-swirl my car and even corrected a shopping trolley scratch. If you are interested in one semd me a PM. I might be able to get one.
