bazza_g
popped out at lunch today to pick up some wedding stuff from the printers, having a nice drive in the new car and didn't notice the camera van ahead on a nice straight clear section of the dual-carriageway A31 'hogs back' - for some reason its a 60mph not NSL Anyone care to guess what I'm looking at for eighty-something (85?) - 3 points? 6 points? court date? I think it will go to the dealers as I'm sure the V5 hasn't been processed yet? The car was purhcased last Friday

ACA_Chap
Unlucky Baz - at least you can say you've saved some money on fuel to pay for the fine Best case I'd say is 3 points. I did 90 in a 60 duel carriage way and got that Worst case is a 28 day ban according to this http://www.drivingban.co.uk/drivingban/speedingoffences/drivingbanspeedingoffences.htm Good luck
pritesh
A friend of mine got done on the hogs back a few weeks ago...he was absolutley knocking some speed (I dare not mention it) I would expect between 3-6 points!
lottiefox
Did they definitely get you? I went past a scamera van on that road at well over 85ish *cough* and didn't get anything....can only assume he was having a coffee at that time..... Two weeks of doom methinks waiting....reckon if they did it could be 6 points and a fine.

ian_m
Bazza - You might be lucky and receive 3 points and £60 fine - but that is a bit unlikely IMO if you get a summons - speculation on what you will get is exactly that - speculation - it really will depend on the magistrate on the day! 6 points sounds a little steep to me! bazza_g
cheers, just got to wait it out now I guess. Its going to take a while though I think as the NIP will go to the dealer first having only purchased the car last friday

S3Rob
Yep I went past that same camera van about a month ago doing around 75 - oops. Haven't heard anything To be fair this is actually a location that is dangerous if your motoring due to the spectacularly shite road surface
bazza_g
do you think I can claim that as the car was new I was testing its capabilities? At least I was doing less than 159mph - I should get off no worries?
