mkoneman
as far as i cant tell from stripping the car down all the wiring inside the a8 is there for all the options so they just plug in all the options you want if you can source a blind and switch I'm sure you can fit it straight in
rob77
cheers mkoneman,i dont know wether its an item you can buy from the dealers?
mkoneman
the motor alone is £98 +vat (i know coz i had to replace mine) so the whole set up from vag will be a LOT i would imagine check ebay and breakers if i were you, good luck
alera
Breakers will be your best option. I dont think the rear blind was particularly reliable to be honest. You will probably need to change the rear parcel shelf as well I would think.

grdunn123
No way!! £1600!! These people must take a lengthy course in how to keep a straight face whilst quoting parts/service/labour. I am truly astounded!! £ 1600 for a rear blind!!I could get my house double glazed ( it already is) for that by that cheeky pair of Yorkshire f**kers Cannon and Ball!! Atomic
1600 is probably about what they charged originally for the option, albeit that might have included the read side windows. Are there not any aftermarket options? Heres a couple of links... not exactly premium design but there could easily be better. The first is only £69! http://www.carparts-direct.co.uk/catalogues/so_new_product_2.cfm http://motors.search.ebay.co.uk/rear-blind_Cars-Parts-Vehicles_W0QQsacatZ9800
rob77
thanks Atomic the price off Audi was for parts only, its a cheaper option on the D3 because Audi decided to include all the looms and motors so you can just add items on at a later date its 567.00 for a D3 and that includes side blinds.
