ROVER ZT! Heard one start up today and drive off and the engine note and exhaust note was truely awesome. As it turns out, its a collegues wife's car!

How can i make the A8 have the V8 growl that Rover has managed sionce the SD1's were in production and maybe before then?!

When I start mine, i can hear a V8 grumble, once on tick over, sounds like a normal car. Driving along, again, sounds normal! my 2.5 V6 TDi A6 had more of a V8 growl than my A8! although, I must admit, I've never heard my A8 (or other A8 V8's for that matter) whilst stood at the roadside!

Any ideas?

Already done my air box...thats gives the engine note a nice growl at front.....

but its the rear i'm wanting a little grunt. I've never heard a milltek on an A8 before, but have heard Tony_A8's custom quad. you can't not bloody hear it! even living 7 miles apart, I'm sure i can hear him on the weekend playing about with his car. but its still not the same note.

Seems like only way to really get the note is to drop in a rover V8........NOT!

I'll just have to make do with my 'modified' air intake for now, unitl i can sample a milltek...

no thankfully,if your getting a system stay clear of longlife they are dogs**t slap.gif

I had a longlife custom made for my S4...thought it was really good. stayed with them nearly all day whilst they did it! good job, sounds well.

Suppose its all down to the craftsmanship rather than the franchise name itself?

is that a custom setup or milltek? What was the damage to the wallet area?

Its a custom quad exhaust with X-Pipe made by some crazy Dutch guys at EPS in the north of Holland. A TSN member SvenS8 had his done there and convinced me to take a bit of a detour on a europe road trip to get one too. It was fairly expensive, costing £1200 IIRC but the guys were true craftsman.

This is the design of the system
