chasdrury
Hi guys I have 20 Gb Hard drive from a laptop that I need to get some data off. I have got a USB - 2.5" HDD adapter. It recognises the drive as 20Gb, by diskamanager says 20Gb free, which isn't right! When I try and browse the drive I get The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Any ideas on how I can retreive data? Thanks Chaz
cruiser647
You will probably need to send it off to a specialist company to get the data back. OnTrack will charge you about £900 for it, but this chap has been used for about £250???? http://www.btinternet.com/~logical/sserv1.html
Mac
It's worth checking that the drive wasn't created on a machine with a later service pack than on the one you're connecting to - that can cause some issues too.
