goggo
I have a 1996 passat 1.8 4cyl petrol wich as developed an intermittant starting problem. At times when the key is turned to the start position the starter motor fails to turn (no clicking etc from the motor)This mostly happens after the car is warm, after a while (sometimes) the car will start ok. The key has a single button to trun on the light in the key fob I have changed the battery but the problem still happens help
hubbes007
how about starter? it could be a bad ignition module, try to check the spark plugs, vw spark plug wires, a bad ignition coil, rotors arms. also check for some dirty connections. give us an update of what other things did you notice. slol
Had this problem with an A4, basically the same car, it was the ignition barrel. When the car refuses to turn over give the area by the key a few thumps and see if it starts. If so changing the barrel is quite cheap £20, and easy but its a steering wheel off job.
