rhyds
My window rubbers seem to be shedding their colour, leaving black marks on any cloth that touches them, and black "runs" under the tailgate window if the tailgate wash-wipe has been used. The car is 12 years old, so I think it's UV damage, and that they will always do it, but is there any way to reduce this problem?
steelwind101
Hello Dont panic, they are not loosing there colour!! The black mark is dirty!! More then likely the dirt has become ingrained in the plastic (is it still soft??) this is hard to clean. If you access to APC then then cut it 3-1 with water and be patient and give them all about 4 goes. Then every other wash keep give them some APC for about month. My advice is go poundland and pick up some MF's there. They have some for (well) a £1. They edges seem to be glued or metled close so not really fit for paintwork unless your super careful. Just fold them and there great to use (and then throw away) on these one off jobs. Always chase APC with a good plastic product. AG bumper care is great, apply let it soak in and then apply again if nessacery. It acutally restores rather applying colour. Geoff

rhyds
Thanks for the advice I gave them a go last night, and they seem to be improving, will follow up with bumper care when I get hold of some. (Is it any good at restoring bumpers?) I usually use poundland for things like cloths, buckets and so on, it is cheap stuff, but a bucket's a bucket at the end of the day. drpellypo
[ QUOTE ] never been to a poundland before [/ QUOTE ] We used to go there all the times as kids and ask how much everything was. Oddly the staff didn't seem fed up, as if nobody had asked that before, or that it wasn't totally obvious.
steelwind101
HMM!! Poundland isnt all cheap and nasty though i dont go there alot. Bumper care is good as it acutally "puts in" to the plastic rather then the just staining. Maybe worth giving it ago if you can spare the £4.49. I think for £9.99 they do an AG kit of six sample 100ML bottles. Well worth, the glass polish is esp. good. My local Halfords had them on sale for £4.99 which is where i got mine.
