khutula
You're making me jealous now. I want some - didn't get any for my birthday TP27 had 18s on his MKIV do a search for his posts Go for 19s, if you can still get hold of them
Gti_Fly
19's look better, but 18's handle better. 19's create an odd steering feel, and a dull turn in feel
TP27
Yup, I had the 18"'s on the MkIV R32 as the threat of rubbing on 19" put me off. Car was brilliant to drive as the 18" CH for the MkIV was an 8.5J alloy. Now reverted to 19"'s on the MkV R32, again the ride is well improved on OEM and I personally love the CH itself !! These pics will give you an idea !!
khutula
[ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Never noticed your APS branding before - very subtle. Or as you spend so much time there it could be advertising
RFredR32
TP27 Was there any problemms with 18 x 8.5 in terms of rubbing on full lock steering feel etc. How does the mk 5 compare to mk4. Looks like my day may be spent with a couple of jacks and a wheel brace.

Looks like my day may be spent with a couple of jacks and a wheel brace. [/ QUOTE ] On the MkIV, the 8.5J x 18" BBS CH is a brilliant ride. No hassle at all - I had GY F1 GSD3 tyres and the overall grip and turning into the corner was much improved. On the MkV R32, the BBS CH is an 8J x 19" alloy and I have the Toyo Proxes. Again, a more direct feel and improved grip all around. Make sure you have the hub rings (for fitting the CH's) as theese come with the BBS fitting kit to ensure a tight fit. I also apply a small smear of copper grease between the hub and the alloy. Helps when I revert back to stock alloys over the winter. Enjoy !! TP. (p.s. Any other Q's, just P.M. me). TP27
Meant to also add that your Insurance Company will need to know about any aftermarket alloys on your R32. They deem BBS CH's as "increasing the risk of theft of your vehicle". You may get away with it by sticking with an 18" CH rim (as the stock Aristo's are 18") but on the MkV, the 19" BBC CH adds £25 to my annual premium. Might be worth checking your mod with the Insurance Company first given your circumstances of postcode, car being garaged, Tracker fitted etc !!
