prt57
Hi, I have just been away for a few days to see relatives up North in our GTI 1.8T covering about 600 miles in 4 days. You would think that I would have done enough driving but my S3 was lurking in the garage. I resisted the temptation all day doing jobs like cutting the grass and doing a bit of work. It got to 8pm and my son reminded me that we had not been out in the S3 for a few days. Out came the map and I planned a route along country roads that I would never normally use. Out we went and straight away the difference between the Mk IV GTI and the S3 is so obvious. Now, I have not reached 1000 miles in the S3 yet so I am still being careful with the loud pedal. I am amazed at how well it picks up in the higher gears. It could produce points on your licence so easily!! 60 miles later, home again on a journey that I did not even need to make but I have been down roads never encountered before and I have lived in this area for 26 years!! The only down side of exploring new roads in an S3 is you have a careful watch out for the boxes on the side of the road belonging to the local "photographic" society! Coventry is swarming with the things!! Cheers, prt
