can a KO4 turbo Replace my blown sportec turbo

i have a mk 5 gti that has had a sportec rs300 conversion done on it have blown the sportec turbo and am looking to replace it but as AMD have recently changed hands and i cant find a supplier i could be comletely wrong but was wandering if anyone knew how a K04 turbo would respond with my existing sportec mapping

If the Mk5 comes with a K03 or K03s turbo as standard, then, based on the ex TT 225 K04 I've just got hold of, the answer is no, because the exit pipe is different.

Hopefully, you've still got all the original pipework etc from when AmD did the conversion...

The mk5 gti turbo is totally different to the old K03/K04 as the turbo is physically part of the manifold. coffee.gif

....Then I suppose a blown turbo might mean an expensive replacement to include the manifold - Although possibly an opportunity to gain an aftermarket performance unit. Here's an illustration of it:

RedRobin, it was already a non standard aftermarket unit.

so needs another "Sportec Turbo", or whatever turbo they use in their kits.

I think the Sportec turbo is a modified K04 - I remember reading something about it a good while ago, but I can't find anything through Google, now. crazy.gif

The original question being asked was about the Sportec map with a standard K04, I believe? I'd guess that it wouldn't run properly. confused.gif
