Paul
speak to Ed at APS. http://www.autops.co.uk./ Ed Runs a highly modified Sportec Mk4 Golf so should be able to advise on whats required. You might see a few familiar faces from AmD too.
RedRobin
I would take this opportunity to replace K03/K04 with a ball-bearing turbo - Much more able take higher boost pressures and also spool faster and more durable than the K03/04 which have hydrodynamic aka journal bearings. Mook
If the Mk5 comes with a K03 or K03s turbo as standard, then, based on the ex TT 225 K04 I've just got hold of, the answer is no, because the exit pipe is different. Hopefully, you've still got all the original pipework etc from when AmD did the conversion...
RedRobin
To revise what I had read in "Performance Tuner" mag and posted earlier, check out what these guys are saying across the pond: HERE

[/ QUOTE ] The mk5 gti turbo is totally different to the old K03/K04 as the turbo is physically part of the manifold.

[/ QUOTE ] ....Then I suppose a blown turbo might mean an expensive replacement to include the manifold - Although possibly an opportunity to gain an aftermarket performance unit. Here's an illustration of it:
Paul
RedRobin, it was already a non standard aftermarket unit. [ QUOTE ] ... mk 5 gti that has had a sportec rs300 conversion done on it have blown the sportec turbo [/ QUOTE ] so needs another "Sportec Turbo", or whatever turbo they use in their kits. R32Ash
I think the Sportec turbo is a modified K04 - I remember reading something about it a good while ago, but I can't find anything through Google, now. The original question being asked was about the Sportec map with a standard K04, I believe? I'd guess that it wouldn't run properly.
