Sparky Posted April 16, 2007 Report Share Posted April 16, 2007 After more than thousand complaints of Xbox 360 users, Microsoft has admitted Saturday night that there is a flaw in the Xbox 360. That happened in the Dutch television programme "Kassa". The flaw causes CDs and DVDs that are spinning in the player to get damaged. According to a press declaration from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 can cause scratches. Initially the company denied to be guilty for the damage. Microsoft kept saying for months that the gamers themselves are responsible for scratches on the discs. After research on the Xbox 360 it was determined that the scratches occur by the lack of a so called "bump pillows" at the lens. From the data of "Kassa" it would concerns a worldwide serial of approximately 1 to 2 million Xbox 360 consoles. In the consumer programme "Kassa" Microsoft promised to offer aid to users who have complaints in the form of repairing. It is however not possible to get a new console. -------------------- The PS2 had this problem - it put a massive score mark in one of my disks, but Sony replaced the unit without fuss. It was known as the circle of death as it would ruin a disc and needed replacing. Almost the same fault too - the unit that raises the Laser lens would raise too much and into the disc. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting to see where this goes. Surely MS are liable for any damage caused by their machine. I would not want to be the supplier of the faulty drive! sbgwz Posted April 16, 2007 Report Share Posted April 16, 2007 well wen my first one went NFS:MW it cracked from the middle and after wouldnt work i went to game and the guy behind the counter didnt kno wwhat to think so got tha manager over i explained that the xbox had done this she ripped it outta the box with a lot of force (nearly snapping it clean) she said no the xbox didnt do this and gave me a knew one i was confused but just walked away with my new copy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He now thinks he has one of the affected units since he has a launch-day console. MS have said they will repair/replace items but that you won't get a new console.
