ChadW
After getting rid over 2.5 years ago I now want a TT again. Notice that 2001-02 models are now under 12k but before I initiate searching for 'the one' I just want to check a few things first? 1) Dashpod - am I correct in saying now that Audi will replace this free of charge irrespective of cars age? 2) MAF / Flywheel / Clutch - guess that these will be more prone to failure on a 5-7 year old car so how much to repair if needed? 3) Can you still chip and forge DV the 225 engine up to 260 odd with ease? Used to have a raven black 225 with grey leather and now want a silver 225 with black leather in a 'classic' stylee. Thanks in advance for any help on above. LOL just found my old one here, not sure I want a black one again, gotta have those alloys tho. http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/55360/an/0/page/9#55360

[/ QUOTE ] 1) The official line is 5 years, but that has been broken on many occasions already. As long as the car is UK sourced and not an import it 'should' be free at any age. 2) Maf's are about £80 and can be fitted with ease yourself. The clutch and flywheel I've not done yet and my TT is a 2001 now on 99,000 miles and going strong. So you should be fine on the 2nd two. 3) The forge DV is still one of the favourites, about £90 or there abouts and can also be fitted easily yourself. The Remaps are now coming in at 270 - 275bhp as most tuners have refined their code and got a bit more out of the map. Prices currently from £265 I heard last week to £500 still for the biger names. shao_khan
If you look around you'll find some nice cars for that kind of price - including somenice colours Second hand Milteks often available as well, which all helps - my last one had 16k trouble free miles running at 276bhp 4yrs ago, luckily that tuner hit the wall and several dogs didnt dignify them by p1551ng on them, but I'd say 260+ is no problem. My only issue was 11 dash pods..........

shao_khan
YOu can see it from there pint of view - but if they wanted repeat business they might want to meet 50 - 50. Was this in Lexus MK by any chance? there was a silver TT in there last week.
ChadW
No it is Lexus Worcester, I can see their point of view and for them a 2nd hand car WILL have defeciencies and I have to accept that too, just annoyed I did not see the paint difference at the time, akthough I am bit dissapointed by the discount they gave for repairing the sill dent that is also present, they should be doing that for free imho.
