News_Stig
TSN News - It looks like the price of a gallon of petrol is to get to almost £5 later on in the year. Oh joy of joys.

RedRobin
But the UK doesn't use gallons any longer - Just litres. Though it's crazy and typically British how the term "miles per gallon" is still used. I thought Optimax/V-Power broke the £1 barrier (per litre) for a while last year anyway. If it forces more grockles off the roads, I won't be complaining. It's like mortgage or bank rates etc etc - It constantly fluctuates anyway so why lose any sleep over it. Atomic
It's going to be $1.20 a litre in Aus Another reason to stop paying UK taxes...
BrakeSnake
Christ, thought it had gone up lately after coming back from hols. Great news considering we have a freeze on fuel duty until October.... Still, increased prices for whatever reason mean more tax to Brown for the same cut of the cake. Greedy 's, IRAN escalation my ass....
Booster
At my local Shell its 93.9p for normal unleaded and £100.9 already
Scotty
So it could be 110p or something like that for Super. A fill up would cost me nearly £70. What's the odds on the tax man increasing the amount we're allowed to claim for business miles?
Sparky
Why have prices risen in the last month to the high 90's anyway? Fecking Gordon Brown

Botang
[ QUOTE ] Why have prices risen in the last month to the high 90's anyway? Fecking Gordon Brown [/ QUOTE ] That was due to the Iran conflict apparently As oil is sold in US $ and the $ is quite weak at the moment we should be seeing some benefit from that. BrakeSnake
By the way, for those interested, post 2006 budget the % for the break down in the way fuel is priced was as follows; 14.9% VAT 49.0% DUTY 36.1% FUEL PRODUCT PRICE At the mo, it equates to about $6.50 per US gallon, and when I was over there a few weeks ago, their 'premium' octane was just touching $3.00 per gallon. Still less than half of what we pay!!
Adam
well it started as 13mpg , with that noise you just want to use all of those 8200 rpm I only do 5000 per year so stuff you Messrs Brown/Livingstone

AntW
given that the £ is nudging $2 now, and oil is priced in dollars, surely the price of fuel should be dropping ?

BrakeSnake
It all depends on where the oil comes from, and how much of it was 'hedged' at a certain price...
