Scotty
I saw this advert on TV so looked it up. This had got to be good for some cars such as the RS4... hasn't it? HERE
techieboy
Sounds good but I'm guessing they'll fit the cheapest pattern parts they can get their hands on. Guessing they won't replace the Pagids on my VX220 with Pagids
Rustynuts
[ QUOTE ] Kwik-Fit guarantees brake pads or shoes against accidental damage, wear and defects for as long as you own your car, provided you authorise all work identified as being required during your free brake check. [/ QUOTE ] So, the discs will need replacing every time, won't they. And they won't be cheap either.

drpellypo
When they started doing free brake checks a friend and I thought we'd have a play with them. We replaced the discs and pads with new ones - drove it round for about a month, so they got mucky, and then took it into Kwikfit for a free check. The car was an absolute heap - knackered old Fiesta - but, had passed it's MOT after the brakes were sorted, so we knew it was 100% fine in that aspect. Low and behold, a very worried looking manager came out (we were both 17 at the time - and probably looked stupid) and said his lads had found some worrying defects on the car. The pads were worn so badly that it had shredded the discs. He told us that he really wasn't happy letting us drive the car anywhere because the brakes were so bad. "I've even had a look myself," he said. I was totally gobsmacked! I told him that I was shocked at what he said because but 3 and a half weeks ago, the discs and pads were replaced with brand new ones, and it had passed it's MOT. He then went on to say the garage I'd taken it to had put second hand bits on, and I should sue them! When I said I had done the work, and I worked for my dads firm, which was well known in the area, his faced dropped and you could see he simply had no idea what to say. I just asked for the keys and said "honesty is the best policy you know." So seemingly, this is an extension of that old scam!
