shaggy
Hi all, I've got an 04 R32 with the satnav headunit and a 6 disc multichanger in the boot. The multichanger has just packed up and I'm looking for a wiring adaptor to enable me to use an aftermarket multichanger, does anyone know where one can be got or any other suggestions!? cheers
Gti_Fly
Sod getting a multichanger, and get a Dension Icelink cable. VW sell them for less than £100, cheaper on ebay if u look. Hook up your ipod to the satnav, and control the ipod via the Satnav cd changer buttons.
Mook
The CD changer is made by Panasonic, IIRC, so you may be able to get one from a car audio supplier. Alternatively, give eBay a go - there's an auction for a repair service on eBay now - it's about to expire, but I'm sure you'll be able to contact them somehow. eBay link Or talk to Tom (a.k.a. Helfinger on Tyresmoke) who also sells Dension kits for your iPod www.speed-detectors.co.uk
Ritey
I might have a VW CD changer kicking about somewhere, not sure if the one out of the Polo is the same as the R32 though ...

Mook
A Phatnoise is basically a hard disk which goes in the back of the car in place of the CD player. The cartidge is removable - you plug it into your PC, copy your MP3 tracks to it and then plug it back into your car. It was VWs attempt to lock people into their own in-car entertainment technology, despite Apple ruling the "generic MP3 player" market with the iPod. You takes your pick... Mook
Yes, apart from the fact that it's not portable - you can only play it in your car. Try eBay for one if you're really after one
