sms720
Hi I am recently married (last 2 weeks) and was wondering if it is possible to insure both our cars for both me and the wife on one policy, i.e. one renewal every year. I am sure people have mentioned this before but can't for the life of me remember where!!! Thanks Si
davyk31
Yes I think its possible ok. If i remember correctly Admiral do a multicar policy although beware as when I tried quotes it was cheaper to do both separatedly. You could easily amend the renewal date of one of your policies to than have 2 policies due on the same date if you wanted that.
sms720
My primary concern is saving money, I just wondered if anyone knew if it would be cheaper as a joint policy. I don't mind staying as we are with 2 separate policies if this is still the cheaper option.
Jennifer
I have also just got married, congratulations. We have just signed up to a joint policy with admiral basically they give you a bigger discount if you have 2 cars with them. what you do is insure the car that is due for renewal first for a year, on which they give you a discount. once you ohter policy needs renewing, if you take it oot with admiral they will prorata it so it syncronises with the end date of the other policy. if you choose not to take out the second car you will have to pay extra on the first one.....does that make sense. all in all it depends whether or not admiral are cheap for you in the first place. in my case they are. hope this helps
techieboy
I think DirectLine do a multi-car policy as well, now. Probably lots of specialist companies as well but you'd probably need to talk to a broker to be sure.
sms720
Thanks, Jennifer that makes perfect sense, I was wondering how to synchronize the 2 policies. Did you just ring up or do it via the web site?
