I've just come back from my local stealers where I've finalised my spec, comes in at £34242!!! shocked.gif

Anyway, was wondering if somebody in the know may be able to look at the figures and assess whether I'm being shafted or not and what I should be looking at?

Guy helped me out loads when I was deciding what finance packages to go for and I've decided a Lease Purchase suits me best over 48 months. The figures are as follows:

£34242 Vehicle

£524 GAP Insurance

£404 Tyre Insurance

£210 Exise

£50 Reg Fee

Total: £35430

Finance Package:

48 Months

£3000 Deposit (8.47%)

£32,430 Financed

£616.24 Per Month

Optional Final Payment of £13105.25

Intrest is 4.14% flat apparently.

Also, what should I be looking for in terms of discount, either money off, options or GAP insurance, etc....

as it's fully loaded with everything you can think of!

Thanks people! beerchug.gif

Silver AZ, I was thinking about white with black optics but my salesman wont let me! grin.gif

TBH, I'm not a huge fan of BMWs Rob, I can appreciate that it's a great machine but it's too much car for me at the moment and a little to thirsty for the driving I do.

Nice 169144-ok.gif

I know where Rob is coming from as the 335i is a beast and places like drive the deal will get you a good one for £34k.

Dont underestimate the thirst of the S3. Great car and I love mine but much over what I paid and some serious hardware is in range. That said I am not a huge BMW fan due to the dashboard 169144-ok.gif

Just looking at your pricing:

Tell them you're not paying more than £300 for GAP, can probably get it for less than this though.

Tyre insurance? I have no idea whether that's a rip or not but you would have to be a bit unlucky wouldn't you? Or is it lifetime or something?

Cost of car £34,242. I would suggest £33,750 is achivable, if not more 169144-ok.gif

I've got the tyre insurance on my current S3 and I've used 4 tyres already....the insurance is also the reason my car has to have it's tyres changed at Kwik-Fit which in turn is the reason why it is in a body shop having repairs to the sill where a tyremonkey incorrectly positioned a jack! smirk.gif

As above - you should be able to get 3% off the cost of the car. GAP is worth it, but you can get it cheaper yourself - maybe an option????

Have you considered ordering your car through an alternative provider???

I used freeway and they were fantastic. They got me 3% off the car, free GAP, maintenance cover (so all road tax licence, servicing, tyres, brake pads etc) are included in my monthly price.

3 years

15000 miles a year

£570(ish) a month

Final car (with dicount) cost £29,750

Final payment £11,650

I cant belive no ones mentioned this yet, never accept a loan quoted on flat rate, this will equate to over 8% APR hence why dealers alway quote flat, dont forget they are legally bound to quote you the APR. You can still get loans at just over 6% especially with the amount your quoting. It sounds to me like your friendly dealer has you bent over and ready to shaft. fekr.gifsportifs2.gif

Why not buy an S4 instead? Better engine, proper quattro and an S4 isn't that much bigger/heavier as all audis are like bricks.

you'll need less extras on the S4 which you're just wasting money on IMO with the S4. (hence their very shitty final payment of £13K. ouch!!)

Also why a £3000 deposit?

I think you should either plough in £15K+ deposit to cover depreciation, or just pay the min. deposit (£500) and have the payments a few quid more and keep the £2.5K in your own bank!

Or pay enough deposit so the loan amount is <£25K (giving you extra credit rights)

I'd get a discount too. 5-10%.

Also GAP costs the dealer £200 or thereabouts. so get them to throw it in at cost or for nothing.

get the APR reduced also 169144-ok.gif

Then after you've done all that, ring at least 3 other dealers from different parts of the country and tell them the exact spec car you want, the exact finance package and how much a month can they do it for - and tell them if the price is right, you'll buy it on the spot.

35K is a lot of money, so its worth spending an extra hour or two haggling hard with some stealers.

there's always a dealer that's willing to offer a bit more discount for an easy sale (no legwork, test drive bollox or delays etc)

No way you should pay that for GAP. Get a quote online and the stealer should match it (mine did without even raising an eyebrow).

When asking for interest rates, don't look at the flat rate, ask for the APR as this is the only way you can compare deals. If the dealer won't tell you the APR you're being shafted.
