sayerbloke
I've never thought about it before, but I guess at the 'Ring there wouldn't be flag marshalls at every corner like you'd have at a normal circuit. Or is there and they weren't doing their job?
fizzbitt
Why on earth would you stop like a prat in that spot??? He must have had enough momentum to roll off the racing line FFS!!...

God knows how they are informed unless they are alerted by drivers who return to the start of the track after a lap..

fizzbitt
Your going to have to pm me that number (if its alright) as my mates are going without me this year in a weeks time.. I will pass it on accordingly...

I assume the one where you pay and where the marshall sit, anywhere, here is the link from Ben Lovejoy's site; Number page
theduisbergkid
I don't mind admitting the 'ring scares the sh1t out of me for precisely this reason....
Scotty
I've had to run back and warn traffic about 3 or 4 times. It would appear these guys just drove on.

[/ QUOTE ] With the front nearside wheel of his S3 hanging off, no, the car probably didn't want to go very far after kerb / barrier interface. fizzbitt
doesnt look that bad to me but if that is the case then fair play but at least (as stated above) he should have been further down the track warning oncoming traffic. He had enought tim to pop the hood up...
Mook
[ QUOTE ] doesnt look that bad to me [/ QUOTE ] Given that it's a 70mph+ corner, it looks bloody awful! He looked like he'd stopped for a cuppa

DHA
I think German law states that the first on scence at a road accident should stop to check people are ok and warn approaching drivers.
Mook
Although the 'Ring is a public road, it's hardly a public road in that sense though

Scotty
[ QUOTE ] Yes running up the track waving your arms while cars whiz past at 180mph doesn't seem like a good idea [/ QUOTE ] I'd expect others to do it for me if I was around a blind bend in the middle of the road and hence I'd do it for others. You of course go along the edge on the safest side and make yourself visible....and of course stand close to a barrier so that you can hop over is needed. At the end of the day it is the law but even more than that, it's a dangerous place and you need to look out for each other.
Mook
[ QUOTE ] 70 mph for most cars, about 35 mph for a Scirocco [/ QUOTE ] Or 30 mph for a Mazda MX5 or green Beemer
