garcon magnifique
(er, no pic though, sorry) On the M6 Toll southbound yesterday afternoon, not hanging around either... A 250 GTO. There's a chance it could have been a kit I suppose, but it definitely sounded like the real thing.
dazdot
Next you will be saying it is your bosses car and that he has let you have a drive in it.

D1MAC
Was it Nick Mason? (He does have one, doesn't he ). There can't be many others in the country. Top spot indeed
garcon magnifique
He does have one, but I don't think it was his. Worldwide I think there are around 30 or so of them still knocking around - which is quite impressive when you consider Ferrari only built 39. (So I read somewhere alooooooong time ago). Andrew
Mason's numberplate is 250 GTO. I think, as much as it is a top spot, the default position is that is was a replica. However, if it wasn't then it is the best spot I've seen on TSN (other than Collease's boss's daily driver ...).
garcon magnifique
Yep. It was going the other way though, so no chance of seeing that! Every chance it was a replica - but from the sound it made, if it is it's a replica with a corking V12 engine!
D1MAC
I suppose it probably was a replica (Jag V12 through straight pipe???). If you believe this months Car then prices for these are at the top again - £10 million+ IIRC Certainly would take pumpkin sized swingers to trundle that amount of cash/rarity up & down the M6/M40, even if we all like to think that we would use one normally if given the chance. Ari
I've a feeling that there may have been some high quality replicas of these made using Ferrari Daytona donor cars for maximum Ferrariness. Would explain the noise if so. Top spot either way, but inclined to agree, the chances of someone risking a stone chip on a motorway in one if these is slight to say the least. Woppum
The second most expensive car in the world isnt it? Last one was sold at around £5m?
scooby_simon
I saw one up close in Belgium 20 years ago being driven in a rally
garcon magnifique
I've actually touched Nick Mason's. (He let me look at his car too...)

[/ QUOTE ] Got to look inside 250 at one of the check points. Asked the driver why he rallied it; "well you can't just look at them !"
