Steggles07
The A4 is getting cramped for the 3 kids and I've decided to upgrade to the A6. Have found a good looking Mar05 A6 3.2T quattro however with no satnav. Can you retrofit the genuine Audi satnav somehow?
kite
Nice car, welcome and yes to the Sat Nav
craigyb
Easy enough to fit, is the car a new shape A6? or old one? if new it also depends if the MMI is HIGH (full colour display) or basic (RED display). If old it dpeends wether you have a concert or symphony II stereo.
Steggles07
Firstly, thanks for the welcome, I'm aiming to get off "stranger" in minimum time! Re the A6, I'll have another look at the car's MMI tomorrow during the all important spouse viewing day but can confirm it is the new shape. I am almost certain the MMI is the full colour display. I remember when I pressed the Satnav button the screen said something like "satnav not installed" Grateful for any advice on how I can purchase and install it. Thanks
TDiAvant
You can buy the kits for around £500-£600, but you will need someone with a VAG-COM to code your car and clear any fault codes.
Alastair_A3
3.2T in the new shape A6?
Edd_W
3.2T in any A6? Sounds more like an S3 lump to me.
Cupramax
Seeing as they dont do a 3.2T I'm guessing he means 3.2...

[/ QUOTE ] Hi, new to the forum but know of a couple of tame electronics guys who should be able to help out around the Glos area. Are the kits available from Audi or from another source. Mine does not have the full colour MMI, would I have to change the screen as well?
TDiAvant
Welcome to TSN You will have to replace the screen, but it's not a cheap upgrade, your looking at £800 for the Basic to MMI high upgrade kit. then £600 for the nav installation. I would think the upgrade to MMI high would take about a day, and the nav install about 1-2 hours, this would take a lot less if you know what your doing. Dilligaf10
Thanks for that, don't think I will bother, just wait till I upgrade the car!
