ShaggySteve
This weekend I’ve been a complete idiot. I’ve reversed and have hit a low stone wall. Fortunately, its not done too much damage, however its scuffed and scratched the rear colour coded plastic skirt (the piece that is level with the exhaust pipes – I’ve got an ED30). It’s taken the paint off and has gone down to the white plastic. How much do you think I’ll be looking at too replace it?
winrya
Well the cost for having the rear valance sanded and painted on normal gti's is sub £150 so not the end of the world fella. I was with dread i opened this post expected a written off car
Tarmac_Terrorist
Very annoying but sooo easy to do. My Father in Law did exactly the same about 4 weeks ago in his new Ed30. Reversing on hols in Cornwall into the edge of a very narrow lane to let an oncoming car pass and caught a rock hidden in the grass verge. Scraped the rear valance just to the left of the tailpipes on the corner. A trip to the local Chips Away, about £118 lighter (incl vat)and it's like mint again. They did a great job. Tarmac_Terrorist
No parking sensors on his car but as far as I know they beep continuously when your as far as 30cm away...not much good in my opinion - especially when reversing into a tight spot and you need to know when your about 4cm away! ekin_88
Hi TT, Dont know you but happy Birthday to you too. 30cm is a good gap, i would not want to park any closer to another car, but i see your point about tight spots, you have to do what you have to do some time
