rottenbend
Fecking gritter lorry spraying salt all over the road and over my car! Near Berkhamsted this afternoon. My car was clean now it's absolutely covered in grit . It's forecast to be 9 degress tonight. WTF??? I'm guessing it was "practicing" - how difficult can it be? Or is it just another way of pi$$ing us off!
D1MAC
Probably a speed control measure
Tarmac_Terrorist
I saw a similar thing last year. I reckon they need to get rid of their quota. I've often wondered if this stuff has a shelf life (yard life). I mean, constant rain on a mound of this stuff over the year would probably just erode to a pile of fine gravel after the salts are washed our of it. techieboy
If it's not icy (or forecast to be) they're usually spreading sand to cover diesel spills. I followed a 3 mile trail of sand/grit the other day outside Crewe, only to find a gritter truck, 2 police cars and a foreign truck parked in a layby at the end of the trail.
